Guan Yin Tang Art Street founds in 2005, as the first local government-backed professional gallery cluster with an absolute leading position at home, Guan Yin Tang Art Street is reputed as the largest “China’s first gallery avenue” with the most standardized operation pattern. The gallery street is designed to create a fine brand for China’s gallery industry in intensive operation and management by attracting a great number of famous galleries both at home and abroad and presenting a collection of excellent works of contemporary artists, thus becoming the highlight of collectors and artwork investors. The commercial street is also intended for shaping a healthy concept for art consumption by enhancing the aesthetic taste of the public.
Within one year since its formal open, Guan Yin Tang Art Street has been awarded by Beijing Chao Yang District Government and Beijing Municipal Government as “Characteristic Street in Chao Yang District”, “Recommendation in Chao Yang”, “Characteristic Street in Beijing” and “Culture Creativity Industry Quarter in Beijing”, etc. It has gradually developed into a business quarter for contemporary artworks dominated by oil painting art, successfully attracting over 50 high-end gallery operators both at home and abroad.
Phase II of Guan Yin Tang Art Street is to be completed in August and open in 2007, designed in its overall planning as an artwork comprehensive transaction quarter dominated by oil paintings, Chinese paintings, and artwork appreciation and art galleries. In addition to complete supporting facilities, public art quarter, 360° full-view public art exhibition hall embodying different oriental and western cultures are also designed for small and medium-sized auctions, art exhibitions and parties, which create fine environment for cultural and art exchange together with the gallery.
